System requirements
TightTake requires macOS 26 or newer. Screen & System Audio Recording permission is needed for screenshots and recordings. Microphone permission is needed only when microphone recording is enabled.
Allow screen capture
- Open TightTake and begin a screenshot or recording.
- Choose Allow Screen Recording when TightTake asks.
- If access is still off, open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Screen & System Audio Recording.
- Turn on TightTake and try the capture again.
Allow microphone recording
Turn on Record microphone in TightTake's Capture Settings. TightTake will ask for microphone access before the next recording. You can change this later in Privacy & Security, then Microphone.
Captures and shortcuts
New captures default to Pictures/TightTake. You can choose another folder in Capture Settings. TightTake's default global shortcuts are Control-Shift-1 for a display screenshot, Control-Shift-2 for an area or window, and Control-Shift-3 to start or stop recording.
Include useful details
When asking for help, include your TightTake version, macOS version, what you expected, what happened instead, and the shortest sequence that reproduces the problem. Please do not attach a private capture unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it.
