The TightTake app
TightTake saves screenshots, recordings, edits, motion analysis, and related project files on your Mac. Captures are saved in the folder you choose. TightTake does not upload those files, create a cloud copy, require an account, or send a history of your app activity to us.
App preferences, capture history references, keyboard shortcuts, and access to a custom capture folder are stored locally. A security-scoped bookmark lets the sandboxed Mac App Store version reopen a folder you selected after you relaunch the app.
Screen and microphone access
TightTake asks for Screen & System Audio Recording access when you use capture features. Microphone access is requested only when microphone recording is enabled. These permissions are used to create the capture you requested. You can review or revoke them at any time in macOS System Settings.
No app analytics or advertising tracking
The TightTake app contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, user profiling, or third-party tracking. It does not sell or share personal information and does not use your work to train an AI model.
Product website measurements
When someone clicks a download button on the TightTake website, we store an aggregate count grouped by calendar day, coarse country and region, browser and page language, page path, button placement, and the requested app version. We use this information to understand general interest in the app and which download buttons are useful.
Our application database does not store the visitor's IP address or create a profile for an individual visitor. Our hosting provider may process network information, including IP addresses, as needed to deliver and secure the website. We use Cloudflare Turnstile on the beta signup form to distinguish people from automated abuse; Cloudflare may process device and network signals for that security check. Aggregate measurements are retained only while they remain useful for operating and improving the product.
TestFlight email signups
If you join the TestFlight list, we store the email address you provide to track beta interest and avoid duplicate signups. After a successful signup, the website shows the current public TestFlight link. We do not use the signup list to send marketing or beta email, and signup addresses are not sold or shared with data brokers.
We keep signup information while the beta program is active or until it is no longer needed to manage invitations. You can ask us to remove your email at any time by contacting support@tighttake.com.
Your choices
You can choose the app's capture folder, remove captures and sidecar files through Finder or TightTake, reset app preferences, and revoke screen or microphone access in System Settings. TightTake has no online account or cloud library to delete.
Changes and contact
If TightTake's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the new behavior ships. Questions about this policy can be sent to support@tighttake.com.
